Dave's Sappy Love Page
Okay so you want to know about the turn of events that led to Danielle finding me, me finding her, and us falling in love, eh? Cool...it's a story
I love to tell!
In September of 1996, my brother was talking to a woman over the Internet who was attending Baylor University. He had suggested to her that she should
check out his web page and see his picture. She did, and asked her friend, Danielle, to look at it too. Her friend, Danielle, checked out the web page, and on a lark clicked on the link to his brother's page. It was there she saw David Gardner's face for the first time.
Finding Dave interesting, she thought of emailing him, but put it off until that next weekend when she finally convinced herself to do it. (She feared I would think she was crazy.)
Now, the reason this is so interesting is, about 1-2 weeks after we had begun talking over the Internet (and the phone) I had started working at Wal-Mart, on the overnight shift. This shift made it impossible for
me to ever get back to the computer lab to correspond because I was either working all night or sleeping all day. (I did not have internet at home.) If we had not started talking by then, we would never have had a chance to get to know each other better over the telephone, because correspondance would never have gotten that far due to my inability to reach the labs.
So through the use of the telephone we grew closer and closer, discovering more things we had in common each day. (Not to mention running up a nice phone bill! *smile*)
We both decided it was time to meet in person, so, in January 1997, after I had moved back to Alabama, I flew out to see her in Austin, Texas. I have to say that it was the most wonderful four days of my life. We planned on having more meetings until we could be together on a permanent basis.
(Of course by now you should know she now lives here in Jacksonville-if you don't-you didn't read the title page! hehe)
Well, there you have it...Fate at work...:) I hope you enjoyed my little story...
I love you, Danielle Fleming....thank you so much...
